Any ideas when SA will get the new facelift 2014 polo?

I'm waiting to see if we will get the new Euro engines or be forced to buy the decade old steam engines in the current range.

In August as per VW facegroup.
2 x new 1.2 66kw
1,4 TDi 55kw Blue motion
1,2 TSI 81kw manual and DSG

Polo Cross 1,2 81kw
Polo Gti - 1,8T 141kw!
Guess the 1,4 guys must be very very upset now lol!

hi RoboJedi,

Got an invite from VW to test drive the *newPolo* the weekend of the 21st, so i am guessing should go on sale soon after that.

Polo GTI is still 1.4l

New Polo GTI is 1.8

The one currently on the site is still the old model as the GTI isn't releasing this year I believe

Haven't test driven as I was viewing before official release at a dealership. Looks well put together, UI seems nice, and I like the option to mirror cell screen on the car display for obvious reasons. Looks good, new light pattern is effective, though haven't seen one with the Xenon's

Boring looking car. With those power figures probably boring to drive too.

Enlighten me.. Which directly competing models offer the same or more power in the price bracket? This includes peak delivery as well as availability of both the actual power and the torque.

I wouldn't buy in that segment, irrespective of brand.
Personally the fiesta has more exciting exterior styling in my opinion though.

Fiesta ST is a brilliant little car, If I could buy in the hot hatch market, i'd go for that.

Volkswagen has confirmed the 2015 GTI will also be more powerful at 141kW – eclipsing the Fiesta ST’s 134kW and the 132kW output of the current Polo GTI, which is powered by a 1.4-litre ‘twin-charger’ engine.

However, that is engine is being phased out in favour of the Octavia’s newer 1.8-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is also likely to give the GTI more peak torque than the outgoing model’s 250Nm.
