It's a variation of the "Kingdom Come" symbol apparently. Never read that particular comic.

What I don't get is.... why do people still care? Superman and Batman keeps getting redone all the time and by now none of it actually means anything anymore.

Superman was my favourite childhood superhero. Even though I'm (supposedly) an adult, It's fun to see these characters from my childhood brought from comic book pages and cartoons to live action, and realised in new ways, even if I don't necessarily agree on the creative choices made. I still find it interesting and fun to see someone else's vision of the character, even if it has been done a million times before. It's a distraction from the real world and its depressing state.
