I also initially thought they could reboot keeping Cavill (as he really is the epitome of the character and the best to play Superman), but i think they made the right decision seeing as there is a reboot happening.
Best to start afresh with a new Superman. Time will tell.

Anyone else getting excited about what James Gunn is doing with the the DC Universe.

I'm a bit over Marvel right now and with DC's reboot something fresh will be good.

There's no other comic hero that carries as much grandeur as Superman.
If done right, he has an awesome screen presence.
