For the silent majority, all you totally legal, web browsing , email your momma only internet users, we don't care about your needs, just like you don't care about our needs. Now shut the hell up and go back to browsing local. We actually make use of the internet, each and every part of it that we can have access to. If you want to limit yourself and your family, in the name of god and country, that is your loss. But don't come and whine here because we get to eat all the cake. We have the ability to do this, and we don't care if you do not.

Could you keep your religious complex issues out of this forum?

We are being used as guinea pigs for the testing of this new FUP of theirs, instead of them implementing it on the first of July according to their e-mail communication to us.

I also noticed that my speed tends to go back to normal on the last 20 minutes of every hour ( 8:40 pm ) it’s been doing that since yesterday… come 9:00pm I go back to being throttled to a 128kb/s line.

Edit: 9pm came and there goes the speed... bye bye till 9:40pm lol :)

Do you expect the CEO of a big company to read your concerns on forums?! Doubt it buddy,,, I know i don't have time at work and i am a normal everyday citizen.

i would imagine mybb has a huge impact on his overall userbase. so its probably not a bad thing for him to at least follow what the sentiment towards his company is. he is no mweb or telkom, to whom mybb users are but a drop in the ocean in terms of overall userbase.

Would still be nice to get some feedback from Afrihost who is there reprasentative? would be nice to get clarity as i wont use more than 150GB per month so if i dont fall into the 7% i will gladly stay, i mean they(Afrihost) did big things for us not so long ago, but if this current shaping is what we can expect then im afraid its offf to mweb, i believe shaping is quite hectic during the day but the feeling is you will do 250GB quiet easile with rapishare. but im all for letting them(Afrihost) first explain this to us, and let us know who the 7% are, ultimately thats the big question, and if my leaving give a better experience for current users i will do it gladly.

Eventually they are going to loose their client base, as they cap/throttle the 7 % until they leave then the next 7 % till they leave until they are left with the few who treat the service as a capped service.

He would be better off employing someone to update the forums on Afrihost's behalf. Probably like MWEB have done. They update the forums very regularly and that "MWEB Representative" quite surely isn't a CEO.

These new T&C's bode well for most of us. Should speed things up if the 24/7 downloaders move to a different isp. Nice!

I cancelled and signed up with Mweb, still not getting full speeds, but at least it is 10 times faster than what I got from Afrhost.

Uhm Strobemeister you are aware this is gonna effect everyone, not just the downloaders. This is just like using a capped packages. YOu are in a sense capped so what is the use of having this unpredictable Uncapped package which caps you after a certian use.

They actually let ppl feel like criminals in this manner. Even if you not a heavy downloader its possible to consume atleast 30 to 50GBs a months.

Just wish ppl would stop with that bull****, oh now all the downloaders are leaving we can have it all for yourselfs kind of attitude.

I love the way people come here to nitpick in a thread thats clearly for people who are unhappy about false advertising uncapped means uncapped and the current level of shaping has made it unusable at times. If its unusable its capped in opinion. Ultimately we want to catch up to first world countries in terms of speed and usage, All that you holier than thou capped users are doing is helping buy keeping prices up and South africa in the dark ages.

I mean, have you ever heard of a dumber argument, "I don't use a lot of data, so you must use the same as me." wtf?

Yes I have, it goes something like this: "Eish, Im da taxi driva... and whys shud I drive legallay in da road stuck with u, when I can drive like on da side of da road, cutting in front of u?" :)

I have 'uncapped' so that I don't have to keep checking if I'm getting capped. Simple as that. It's a crap way to use the internet, always checking your usage. It's not that I don't d/l torrents, I do. I use Steam, I watch Youtube vids. I probably consume 20-30gb/month. I used to have 5gb to use. This system works just fine for me.

Cancelled - Afrihost should NOT have tried to compete with MWEB and others, when they KNEW they could not.

actually if 7% of their userbase is congesting their network, i'd have just thrown those 7% off :)

its like one table at a buffet hogging the queues and eating 90% of the available food.
