The object in business is not always to grow, just create a fully sustainable guaranteed income.

Kind of like subsistence farming ???.

Well this is a sure recipe for failure ... just making the payroll and expenses is a sure fire ticket to oblivion in any business.

This is amazing ... in the month I have been on this forum, I have seen the state of DSL in SA improve immensly, seems that consumer pressure is starting to take its toll on Telkom, and the ISPs are responding by giving us better prices. Let's hope this momentum continues into the near future. Well done Axxess, you certainly have my business now!

-tibby.dude, you clearly have never read or applied much of Tom Peters business management strategy training - or for that matter, ever run any kind of business that pulls in over 100 grand a month profit.
Unless you're a Dr Evil who desperately wants to play stupid capitalist and try to expand excessively, there's a place for the businesses in it for the long term steady income. This is hardly 'making the payroll and expenses'.

I know of a number of businesses running with 4 or 5 people in each, who are very happy to be making their 80 -150 grand a month profit, and have no need or desire to expand.

If you know nothing of actual genuine business, strategy, management or tactics - especially relating to small business, then you really shouldn't be offering 'advice' - and rather go over-expand, show off, and have an early death from heart attacks as you try and keep up with the other capitalists you seem to want to emulate. Or else ask mom n dad for a raise in your pocket money :)

I'd suggest therapy, and some studying of international financial management strategy - so that you can learn how to define what is 'enough' money, and not let your greed blind you to the reality of doing business in the long term, below the radar.

Read the tortoise and the hare, its a great little fable, which has a lot that can teach those who want to make 'enough' money - and have the free time to enjoy it as well.

Now shut up, and let this thread go back to giving Axxess oral :P
