New AXXESS pricing.

Quick question....

Does Axxess resell SAIX accounts? And the same for SAOL... are they reselling SAIX accounts?

Syzygy

Yes, Axxess sells SAIX accounts. I'm presuming SAOL does as well.

Ok, I see it now.. So tomorrow prices will drop to R230 / 30gig and then next week monday R160 / 30gig at the current rate. I smell something awfull happening here, Im starting to think that SAIX wholesale adsl is FREE now or something.

Im really happy prices drop, obviously.. But this is very drastic and strange, makes me thing of the Series The 4400 O_o

/me gonna be digging into this a bit.

The only scary thing here is that if it gets too cheap, and telkom has not planed for that, we will get k4k speed until who knows what ....

it doesn't say on their web site if the R299.00 pm is VAT inclusive?! Anyone knows?

From the look of it, Imaginet won't be following suite, that at least is the impression I got when I spoke to them about dropping their prices to match.

Look, its very dangerous to have our pricing strategy determined by who is the lowest in the market. Remember, if we have 1000 customers, and we drop their price by R10, it costs us R10,000. Suddenly, what seems like a small amount is now a big amount. We also have to consider that unlike other ISP’s, we actually care about the service quality we give our clients, and we work very hard at keeping customers happy. That’s the prime motivator for us, adding value for our customers comes in a close second.

This is how we’ve always operated, and how we will continue to operate. We’ll continue to analyse our value proposition, and come up with innovative solutions to suit you, our valued customer.

Hang in there, whatever happens, you can be sure that your best interests are at heart here at Imaginet.

Yeah, I'm with them until the end of the month.
Until recently I was paying 299 for 4GB when I could have been paying 279 for 5GB.

Imaginet's service is good, but I'm still leaving them at the end of the month - mainly because they are too slow to compete, and also because I can get all the service I need from a cheaper ISP.

Remember all these ISPs are basically just SAIX resellers, so I mean seriously, how much "value" can they add?
I also had latency issues that I contacted Imaginet about - they cant do anything because SAIX controls that side of things...so in the end where is the "value"??

I can understand Imaginet's point of view. But the thing is, if these prices are here to stay, Imaginet are going to be forced to drop their pricing. Because they won't get any new signups and their present users will leave to go to cheaper ISP's. There is such a thing as customer loyalty, but we're not talking about R10 difference in the pricing, we're looking at about R250 more than the cheapest offer. Who in their right mind is going to be happy paying R250 more just to be loyal?

So I can see them reluctantly dropping their prices if things carry on the way they've been going.

yes please!
Axxess might wanna change their advertisements here on myadsl

Lol @ KILLA-BOOB

I see it as him getting his just deserts for the terrible grammer, missing punctiation and pigheadedness displayed on this forum.

Nice one to all the lower priced ISP's

webafrica has got 30Gb for R199 incl vat.

I very much doubt Axxess will be able to beat that price. But don't forget the Web Africa special is only for the next 3 months.

What worries me is some back room deal where the isp's eventually set their own common price. AKA collusion.

Not saying its going to happen - just that the possibility concerns me thats all.

Telkom has made me paranoid
Psst - I think they're watching me

Me thinks Telkom wants everyone to get ADSL and is standing back at the moment watching the ISP's do it for them.

Think about it.
I know of several people in the last week that are all talking about calling Telkom to install ADSL, because of the "ISP Price War". Not because the line rental came down R50.00
