Well back on FF for now, too many stuff i miss.

I am however using the "Web application" functionality for a few interactive type of websites i tend to use and don't want to actually open Firefox for.

one question, does chrome use more bandwidth,i am testing it now on the forum and 4 megs has flown by.Can anyone confirm this.

Yes, i had the same thing. I was lagging to death in WoW and then checked my firewall seeing Chrome is just going berserk with a constant amount being downloaded from Google.

I know Chrome is using Gears [http://gears.google.com/] , which might be the issue. Gears gives you the ability to run websites offline, which in turns means it has to download everything [and regularly i assume] to your harddrive ...maybe it's that.

gonna have to stop using chrome then.

Yep just confirmed it on my end again. I just left Chrome open on a blank site, give a few minutes and blam something starts downloading from an ip which leads to google.com. So dunno what setting is doing it and where the 2MB that just flew by went to. So watch your bandwidth meters ;)

I found this thread

I just noticed Chrome has some sort of spyware function a là Google Browser Toolbar. While browsing, it sends my data to Google and then the Googlebot come back browsing the same pages I was reading.

Anyone knows? I know there's a setting that you an turn off, but later on that same thread people says it's still doing stuff.

It has being 3 days since Google Chrome came out... and I am still using it has my default browser. Anyone else?

I found the non-IE independent proxy settings painful...

Also this was VERY off-putting. Google has said this was a "mistake" and are correcting it but it's not what you expect from Google... I won't be using this browser in the near future

Astute Reg readers have pointed out a Chrome condition of service that effectively lets Google use any of your copyrighted material posted to the web via Chrome without paying you a cent.

The scrapped that whole part of the EULA in one day.

They also said it's largely unenforceable because the program is open source. You could have simply recompiled the source code and be using the program without agreeing to their EULA.

In the same article above:

Update - Google amends Chrome EULA

(Updated 4 Sep '08 0830 GMT) Google has amended section 11.1 of the Chrome EULA so that it now reads:

11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights that you already hold in Content that you submit, post or display on or through the Services.

There are now no other sub-sections in section 11. What you see is what you get. Terrific. Google acted with alacrity. Great stuff. No worries. The points below no longer apply.

So it's all sorted...now we can move on with the fine print stuff and get the actual browser to be better ;)

LOL that thing is a resources hog - it needs to be optimized first, then work on enhancements...

Still default because I use Gmail mainly on Vista, but I'm getting really frustrated I need a menubar to copy and paste, the right-click paste is useless.

What I wanna know.. is it highlights error messages.. but how do you get it to give you the option to choose the right word?

It's designed that way - each tab runs in a separate process for better stability.

Gees,I regret loading this !!
Resource hog and slowed everything down badly !
Continual hd activity..I suspect this is typical Google collect info stuff going on.Have un installed it, yet the nonsense remains.!
Damn...!

What OS and how much RAM? I found it to be slick and fast with 30+ tabs, Vista with 4GB.

Some more Google junk to load onto people's PC's..
Google Toolbar - Sucks most
Google Desktop search - Won't even come close to my PC
Google Chrome - Tried for 1hour at work what a waste of bandwidth
Google Earth, ??? maybe the only useful program for some people but their pictures so outdated in some places.

Google sucks so much they can't even design their own theme.. Look at the b!tches ripping of the Vista theme... LOL no transparency look really cr@p in Vista.
At least Firefox support transparency with plugins..
Will stay with IE7 & Firefox 3..
Thanks, but no thanks Google.
