Hey guys, so its finally that time for me to upgrade. Been waiting 3 years for this. lol.

I have approx R20 000 to play around with, and have been doing some heavy research on the products I've chosen. But your opinions are always welcomed to guide.

So here you are:

CPU: i7 3770K
MOBO: MSI Z77A-GD65 Killer mobo.
PSU: Corsair AX850 (will be doing SLI in the very near future)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100 Liquid cooling
CHASSIS: Obsidian 800D
GPU: The BEASTS MSI GTX 680. Wanted the ASUS, but no one has stock
RAM: Corsair vengeance CL8 timing 8gig
SSD: Force GT 120GB
Rig will be used mostly for gaming, but also video editing with sony vegas.

Main purpose of the rig?
Regardless, I'd wait 2 weeks and get the new CPU's from Intel, should be coming in at the same prices.

The official Ivy motherboards will be better than the current Sandy motherboards, even though they are interchangeable.
 
lol, forgot to add the SSD, soz, Vertex 3 120gig.

I see they have pushed the release date up. So yeah, will actually wait a couple of weeks. Just read that post now.

Other than that, are there any other things to consider implementing or deducting?

Does low latency RAM help with video editing? IF not, I'd save a few bucks and leave it at C9. Or do you like benchmarking? Thats the only other place where low latency RAM helps
What monitor resolution are you running? Multiple screens?

Swap out the V3 for the Force GT 120GB :p

Not too worried about benchmarks to be honest, but yes, the low latency does help a bit with the editing. The main reason why I put it in there. But to be honest, its not a hell of a lot of editing I do. I mostly mess around with music videos and put dvds together of the kid doing arb things for the wife. :)

I am running 2x Samsung C23A550U LED Backlit 23"
 
Rather wait, Ivy Bridge will give you a lot more bang for you buck. Like Archer mentioned, you can get low latency RAM to have impressive benchmarks but in real world use it won't make too much of a difference.

2 screens wouldnt need the GTX680 SLI imo, as I'm sure you're mostly gaming on only one screen correct? Unless you planning on going to a triple monitor setup.

Then personally, I would drop to a cheaper case, and use that extra dough to push for a 240GB SSD.

I can't drop that case. I just can't. Been wanting it since it's release. It's pure beauty in my eyes. Sleek, clean............aaaaaahhhhhhrrrrrrggggggggg

Considering the 4 screen support that the GTX680 has, I was hoping for another 2 x samsungs. Then hopefully the SLI will come into play and help with the load....and not dropping the framerate by too much. Overkill to a degree, I know.
 
nice rig but there must be a SSD in that pc to make it kick ass
 
As soon as you hit 3 screens, then the SLI config will be able to stretch its legs, so then it will be worth while. As for the case vs SSD, entirely up to you. The 800D was the only other case I was considering before making my own one, so I kinda know how you feel :p It is a veeerrrryyyy nice case
