Hi

This is for a store.

Need some advise regarding which switches to purchase. I need 2 Gigabit 16 port switches. Unmanaged, but needs to be robust and have high availability. Which brands/models would you recommend. Also, what type of cable would you recommend. Minimum Cat 5e. Would Cat 6 be overkill?

There will be IP camera's running on the Back Office PC. Around 8.

My 2 PC Builds:

Thanks!

for unmanaged switches i would go netgear.. and then i would also go with cat6 cabling.. much better bandwidth than cat5e and considering that you are running ip cams, you can run em in full 1080p and not have to worry about slowing down the network.. might also be worthwhile grabbing PoE switches then to power the cams as well, if they support PoE..
