Looking at buying the new Toyota Etios hatchback 2015 any thoughts or advice?
Get the new Figo instead
You will have to wait a bit for it to be released but it sure as hell will be a lot better buy than the Etios.

Vivo is expensive for what?Being a Toyota it will bring you many happy miles. Only suggestion would be that if you could stretch the budget a bit and get a Vivo. Or maybe just a demo model. There's is a reason why the roads are littered with them.
Ugh. Must be honest. Drove an Etios hatch in Cape Town. It was noisy, whiny, terrible and felt cheap.
Rather look at something like a demo i20 if all you can afford is R140 k region. If you can afford a bit more, look at the Fiesta or Opel Corsa.
No no and no!

Sorry to hear about the death of your personality. How did it happen?
The Etios is sold as an entry level, first time buyer who has little or know mechanical sense, type car.
The finish is shocking, noise levels inside are similar to cheap cars sold in the 70's.
Quite frankly, the only reason it is selling well in SA is because it's a Toyota. Put a French badge on the thing and these pages would be awash with how horrible the car is.
Buy one by all means if you simply need to go from A to B in the city, and don't really care about an sort of quality. Even one long trip would be enough to make you want to sell it.
I worked for Toyota when they were released, and quite frankly, the car is an embarrassment!
That is basically what it is going to be used for, my wife is going to drive it and will only be to get from home to work and to fetch the little one from school.
Factor in the safety equipment too. I'd get a used i20That is basically what it is going to be used for, my wife is going to drive it and will only be to get from home to work and to fetch the little one from school.
