New Cell C prepaid plan

Hi guys.

I was browsing the cell c website and noticed they have a new pre paid price plan called 50c. Minutes and SMS are only 50c on the plan but you do lose the supacharge bonuses.

I personally found the supacharge benefits have way to short an expiry unless I buy 300 or more so this suits me well. I will just go to the store and buy the 1 year expiry 3GB voucher for my data needs.

Just thought you guys might like to know as Cell C doesn't seem to be advertising this pricing option. They seem to be pushing their new rubbish mega bonus product.

Nice plan, don't need Supacharge too. If only I could get it on R49 RBM starter pack...

Switch to the 50c plan last month and since then my airtime seems to last for ever

You guys do realise that this now officially makes a mobile call cheaper than a landline call...never though we would see this happening.

Yes plan been out a while but Cellc does not actually advertise it because its just there so they can still claim to be the cheapest call rates in SA. They would much rather push advertising for their new mega bonus price plan and 99c per second price plan with free 50mb data every month when you recharge with R10 or more.

All those price plans is more expensive at the end of the day.

50c price plan: R10 airtime gives you 20min to any network any time until your airtime is finished.
Megabonus: R10 airtime gives you +-9min to any network and +-14min on net minutes valid for 2 days.
Supacharge 99c 4 real: R10 gives you 10min to any network and 8min on net minutes and 8mb valid for 2 days

So lets say you just make a Cellc to Cellc call.

50c price plan = 20min for R10airtime
Megabonus = 23min for R10 airtime has 2 day expiry date
Supacharge = 18min for R10 airtime has 2 days expiry date.

Are these price plans really even worth it? I don't think so. The 50c price plan is actually cheaper for on net calls than the cheapest supacharge value which expires in 2 days which the 50c price plan does not have.
