Hey guys and gals,

I was wondering, I'm currently rocking an Asus ROG Phone II, it's quite a beast. "Upgraded" from a Samsung S5, but to be honest, I quite enjoy the S5's form-factor a lot more. The Asus is heavy (bigger battery and all) and quite a bit bigger (in width as well)

Are there any comparable phones with the thin-ness/size of the S5 that also has decent RAM? (Not talking about ROM as that gets confused with RAM a lot). Also not fussed about size of that, but I sure liked not being limited to the much smaller size of the S5 (with an external SD card I had 24gb, running 256gb now)

Let me know. As long as it's decent quality, has enough RAM and not a brick that can kill someone, it'll be fine. Mostly use it for some gaming (not really intensive, Clash Royale / Last day on Earth) and some youtube/web stuff. Figured I'd get a gaming phone because I wanted to get into the more intense games, but that was at a time when I moved country/didn't have a TV or Xbox etc.

Now I just want to walk around with a phone in my pocket without it dragging my pants down.

Thanks!

Yea I just did a bit of the googs and youtube reviews, seems decent, not much more than the S5, but would need to feel it in hand to check first. 8GB ram is ok, was hoping for 12gb, not even the + has 12gb, but meh. should be enough

And no, it's not the distant past (2014 is the distant past?!), but I really liked that phone and I don't generally throw away/upgrade away every year, so keep phones for 3-5 years depending if they serve me well. The annoyance of the ROG 2 (and Asus kind of dismissing OS upgrades for it, having the ROG 6 out already when this phone is like 3 years old) makes me wonder if it was the right choice.

Can probably get some sort of re-sale value on it anyway since I have the joycon addons for it as well

The S22 looks very close to what I want, although the S22+ seems to be recommended the most for the bigger batter life, but is heavier (of course) and bigger.

The only issue I see that keeps popping up is heating issues though... meh
