Due to the overwhelming demand for an extra concurrent session on our 10GB account, SAOL now offers a 2 concurrent session 10GB account (dual) for R479 per month.

We hope this niche in the market will now be satisfied.

Whats the price difference between the single session 10gb account and the 2 concurrent session 10gb account?

I dont really see the need to pay R100 extra for being able to login concurrently... still the same amount of bandwidth usage? What does it cost you?
Nevermind...

Basically it works like this; We contend the bandwidth useage, thereby enabling us to offer the packages that we do. When there are concurrent sessions, one account is being shared, thereby effectively costing SAOL a customer, and increasing the useage statistics, which compromises our contention figures.

It is for these reasons that we offer the concurrent packages at a higher price, to enable us to still offer the low-cost packages in single concurrencies.

ROFL - Paying that much more to use a meagre cap all that more quickly - where else but this country eh? :)

Welcome to South Africa gents.
Marko please go work for Telkom it suits you better.
Apparently increasing prices and justifying it on a site like this will make consumers happy? Incase you forgot this is home of the people who actually have brains in the sense that they dont fall for ridiculous ripoffs like this.
Plus, two concurrent connections? WOOPY? For R100 extra? That's worse then Telkom's latest deals...
Please. What a joke.
Excuse me if I sound cynic, but things are only getting worse in this country - it's a clear fact.

SAOL joins the "Take SA public for a ride while raking in the cash" bandwagon.
Oh wait, thats like every SA ISP. Especially the popular/1st tier ISPs. Apparently MWEB are well priced. LOL?

Sorry if I'm exhadurating or giving the impression that i'm contradicting my point on people who have brains being here, but I've actually had enough of this bull****. **** telkom and **** this ****ing country.

And for emphasis's sake, I'll say it once more: **** Telkom and the monkeys running it.

This country's goin' downhill folks.

If you want a cheap reliable isp, go openweb - http://www.openweb.co.za - they are offering a single connection 10 gig SAOL account for 349. As well as they have proxies to assist you to access international access. I strongly recommend you head over there and see the proof yourself :D

Sweetness guys, lets support the smaller guys who have us in sight.

Openweb ftw

Fragtion - if u look at it like that then you will see a real bad situation, but we at www.gamingalive.co.za are here 2 stay and fight with any1 who wants 2 take a stand, we already have myadsl.co.za you will see 1 company can make a difference.

This is exactly the ZA TELKOM think tank methodology. The connections still come from the same client office, same pc's so why would there have been another client that you lost??? Pure exploitation.
Telkom will find any reason to charge extra like an extension on the same phone line! Why do You not also charge for the pots filter facility on the line?? that is some extra income? Do not become like TELKOM otherwise I will regret that I am one of your customers. Prior 1 Nov With WA I could have had four concurrent connections on my service without paying extra. We are not resellers!

Just asking not been negative like Blobnow states in next post LoL

Marko don't worry about the negative posts here. This will actually help me a million as I can now share the bandwith with my parents for much cheaper ...

Keep it up ...

Whats meant to be at the top right? I heart (love) firefox... with adblock of course. Well they have to advertise you know...
And look, SAOL have good prices.. lot better than Telkom/Mweb and would probably change for the better if given the chance, unlike Telkom who have the chance to change broadband for the better... so give them a break

That is where you are wrong - the normal single connection account will allow 4 sessions from the same ADSL line, but only connections from 1 line will be allowed.

The dual session account allows the user to connect from 2 ADSL lines (many clients want to use 1 account at home and at work concurrently).

It's not about a lost client, but more about lowering the average usage per account - keep in mind, our ADSL 10 dual account is still WAY cheaper than any other ISP out there while our ADSL 10 single account is almost 1/2 the price of the others. SAOL are trying to keep the costs down for the consumer - not quite Telkom thinking IMO.

Thats different! Thanks for the clarification and re-affirmation. I am happy with SAOL so far, as always no pains no gains.
PS I getting accustomed to the quick responses. Are you monitoring this all the time?? Well done

like I sais above ... it is going to be cheaper to SHARE ;)
This is what SAOL got themselves into now. People will abuse the service by splitting costs among two potential customers and SAOL will only be gaining R100 extra. nice one....

Why can't this bloody country just do things by international standards? We're behind so just follow the international example -- they've tried and tested. The franchising concept people for god's sake!

so bitch at the country, bitch at the government .. don't bitch at the people providing the service in this democracy of ours.
That would by definition include the likes of Telkom.
