Looking to sign a new contract for a S4 Mini. I used to be with CellC and now thinking of trying the Telkom Mobile Smart 100. Any objections or anything to be careful off regarding Telkom mobile?

If you have Telkom coverage they are awesome.
Maybe just check that first.
If not stick to CellC.
My wife is on MTN and she gets perfect reception at home. To clarify roaming is free?

Don't get suckered into signing a contract, rather buy the phone for cash from Takealot.com or Kalahari.com and get a prepaid sim card.

I don't think that prepaid is always necessarily better value for money, depending on what value you get out of your contract.
With the recent extra 5Gb from TM, the contracts are quite affordable.

It's got nothing to do with value for money and everything to do with signing your life away for 24 months. Personally I will never ever sign a contract no matter how much better value it is that prepaid. For me the ability to switch and change providers whenever I want to is worth more to me than any perceived value for money you may get by signing a contract.
You must live in a rural area or are a hobo that travels if you feel you need to change providers every two months. :erm:

cool so went to telkom mobile in Bloem on the Wednesday and then waited for about an hour to fill in the paperwork and then finally sit through the paper to pc. then got stuck at credit check so they said it would be done by 4pm and that I would get a call to come and collect the phone and then I went back to work and didn't receive a call so I went past on my way home and it wasnt complete yet and was informed that it would be down the next day. Went through Thursday without a call and then at about 3 I got a call saying it is still stuck at the credit check and should be done by 4. never got the call at 4 so decided to just go home and then as i arrived I got a call saying that it has completed and ready for collection but by then it was too late so told then that I would pick it up on Friday. Went to pick it up waited half an hour to be acknowledged and finally someone saw to me and got the phone and the porting papers for me to fill in and then waited an other half hour for the port to be processed. I was informed that the telkom mobile sim card that will have the ported number will be active with a temporary number and that I will be able to use it. its 5 hours later the sim isn't active and I am pissed!! throughout the whole week I was patient and calm and just waiting for the phone and sim card but now its not completed and dreading going to the telkom mobile store to sort this out!! I am pissed!! I was attracted to the package and will still like to keep it but the service is pathetic!
If this can be sorted out with one PM to the telkom mobile rep i would appreciate it because if something as simple as opening a contract(which took three days) and porting a number cannot be done by Pretty and the Regional Manager(who's name I cannot remember) at Telkom Mobile in Loch Logan then they shouldn't be working there, if it is due to some other reason an apology is in order!
