New deals at Cell C

OMG they are really pushing this smartchat contracts. Possibly trying to phase the straightup contracts out?

That would be the worst thing they can ever do. Their data speeds are a joke and now they are pushing people to use even more data.... They don't even allow for LTE to their users so I can't see why they would do this.....

FAIL

At MWEB, you can buy a cell c sim card with 2gb of data at R89. 50 minutes on the 66 cents package will cost you R33.

R89 + R33 = R122.

With Cell C's new smart chat package, 2gb of data with 50 minutes airtime costs you R199 a month. The data is only 1gb anytime and 1 gb night time.

How do you justify the extra R77 for almost the same package???

So you guys noticed that the build your own contract option has been removed from the website completely. Looks like they removing straight up contracts and now you have to choose a deal from the booklet when applying for a contract.

Things are changing pretty quickly/differently under Jose Dos Santos.

The contract builder was my favourite feature on their site. Now they're just as bad as Vodacom's site.

What was wrong with the straight up contracts?

Who wants 200 SMSes and only 200MB of data? Rather give me 0 SMSes and 1GB of data. I also don't need 200 free minutes. The ratio of sms/data/minutes on these contracts just don't make sense for most people.

What's this contract builder you speak of? Can you customize how much of what you get? Eg I'd love a contract that gave me 600 minutes and nothing else - maybe 25 SMSs?

With the contract builder on the Straight Up contract you could drag the slider and add more data, SMS, whatever.

More 'simple' and 'belief' turns to 'complex' and 'disbelief'. Welcome to the new world of Cell-C.

No value for money! Clever marketing on their part get customers to port over & now that their contract is coming to end.. Chase them away.

I would prefer more minutes than data on my contract package.

What are the out-of-bundle per second charges for the SMartChat and the Staight-Up Standard? I can't find it on Cell C's site anywhere.

is it possible to change my contract from straight up to smart chat?

If you are for an upgrade, obviously. If the contract was without a device, I cant see a problem. Otherwise there might be some penalties to cancel contract.

I am considering the ChatMore contracts.

so back in July i went to a cell c shop, and i was told no problem we will migrate you, i even got an sms saying migration successful.
but when i checked online i saw i was still on the old contract.
so i waited, and went on leave....came back September and still nothing was changed...
i called and was told we'll look into it and still nothing was changed.
called again yesterday and today someone called me back, but this time i was asked to pay R500 for migration??

i think my next contract will be vodacom.
