New DStv channels launched

More channels to skip through. Joy.

They should launch DSTV Condensed. Same price point as Premium but you get say 50 channels, all in HD, plus PVR.

Mnet
Mnet Movies 1+2
Mnet Action
Mnet Series
BBC Entertainment
Discovery Channel (Get the whole damn sweet and not the **** amalgamation we have)
Vuzu
E!
BBC Lifestyle
Travel Channel
Food Network
Supersport Blitz-5
ESPN
BBC Knowledge
History
Nat Geo (again most of the suite)
Crime and Investigation
Throw in all their current kids TV networks
Get some decent music channels (not clued up in this area)
Their News channels are fine (one or two could be sacrificed)
US Comedy Central would be awesome
HBO
The Golf Channel

So that could come to about 50 channels, give or take, if they give us that in HD, with PVR (I don't mind storing it on the PVR I know some do) and perhaps a PPV movie service in HD for R470 or however much they want per month... That is a good deal. Throw in free streaming via the drifta app, perhaps bundle it with uncapped for a little extra... You are starting to get a decent product out on the market whose value matches its price.

Rubbish

Rubbish
Rubbish
Rubbish
And more Rubbish

Shew! For a moment there I thought I was going to subscribe to DSTV again.

Thanks DSTV for saving me money once again this year.

yeah what i was thinking

I will sign up for that tomorrow. But I don't want to be forced in a bouquet with mostly useless channels.

Game of Thrones. (Though the books are better than the series, of course.)
:erm: M-Net has shown every episode aired in the US, what more do you want?

I agree the new channels are not much use, the only one I'll use is VH1 Classic, but there are enough other channels to watch, so just don't watch crap channels. That's what favourite channel lists are for ;)

That's not how it works. Channels come bundled. Some channels subsidize others.

I know that, but if you launch it as a ultra-premium type bouquet it could work. In effect people would be paying them to leave channels out. I'm not sure on the costs of broadcasting in HD but it can't be that much more expensive than SD, especially if done in bulk. If you think about it like this, say this and Premium both cost R500/m, here you are paying them R10/channel, for Premium you are paying R5/channel.

So they take away one decent channel and give us a bunch of sh*t!?!?!

Why do people expect SA to get channels that are made for US networks.... What shows are on those networks that you would like to watch that are not on M-Net or other DSTV channels?

I think they're racists who don't want to see or hear locals?

People, the only way Monochoice is going to listen, is if all people stop their subscriptions!
Money talks louder than words!

Not everyone is unhappy with them. And those who are probably unsubscribed already.

I personally am content with what I get for R260 per month.

I was not impressed with Bay TV and 1KZN channels. Soweto TV is much better than them, it seems they are trying to copy it.

Mzansi Music rocks.

Guys, as *** as these channels are, you can avoid seeing them when you channel hop.

Just mark all you favourite channels. Then on the remote click "TV" and select "Favourites". That's how I do it and avoid seeing this ***!
