New DStv HD channel details

A new SuperSport HD channel is to launch on Friday, 8 April 2011 and will allow SuperSport to reshuffle its programming across its HD channels
 
Great news about HD F1.

Crap news about a channel dedicated to 24 hour English Premier League. They could surely fit in more sporting content by reducing the number of hours for EPL.
 
Yes, great for F1 in HD! As well as Tennis in HD. But do we really need another Sports channel in HD? Why not a channel just broadcasting Series / Movies?

Even if there was a need for a 3rd HD sports channel, did it really have to be one dedicated to 24 hours of EPL? Seems like a waste to me - I would have preferred NatGeo in HD.
 
How about some NEW channels.

How about FOX, Showtime etc. Personally I dont care about HD vs non HS. I care about choice, option, something to flippen watch.

+10000000. Being monochoice we'll probably have 15 HD sports channels before we get anything useful again :rolleyes:
 
Seriously, why waste a whole HD channel on EPL ? Surely they can put that on a SD channel and give us something worthwhile in HD.
 
Sport is the only thing they have over TopTV, so they have to keep boosting it as a "gotto have", how else can they justify their pricing compared to TopTV. It is all about keeping up with the Joneses in the end, and DSTV knows it too well. No self respecting high income family can be caught dead without as many as possible HD TV channels, it does not really matter if anyone watches it, as long as you have it :p

The 24 hour EPL already exists, all they're doing is moving it. So in theory what they're doing is adding another sports channel which will please the MNet HD viewers who sometimes get football thrust upon their soapy time:)

Well they're quoted as provided selected cricket (along with many other sports) on one of the channels, but have a dedicated channel showing one sport from one league. A bit off-pissing.
 
I think Discovery is the only 3rd party HD channel on DSTV
