New DStv HD decoder for R399

MultiChoice Group has announced the launch its DStv HD Decoder 6, which replaces its 5-series of decoders.

The new model has the same functionalities as the HD Decoder 5-series and retains most of its features while offering some new improvements.

Well since I've seen QC process in the old factory vs the new one I'm not surprised that they can drop the price :cautious:

Contains a micro SIM? Really?

It's about time we have internet enabled decoder... Telkom must come up with FREEMe bundle...

 Now the next iteration should include Bluetooth.
 They should have opted for the eSim technology.
 It should be able to act as a WIFI hotspot.

Micro SIM probably means the smart card, where you don't need that whole credit card sized one anymore.

Internet enabled decoder? The only thing a decoder is useful for is to decode an encrypted signal. What would Telkom be decoding exactly?

And a Cellphone is for making calls right? What's 40 Megapixel for....

A 5G capable decoder should be their next target and market their box as an Entertainment Box.

What would Telkom be decoding exactly?
I assume you missed the FreeMe Bundle part. Have a look at them.

Err... most things are recyclable. Problem has always been finding a recycling point.

LOL. Decoder or IP media box? There's a difference. What would it be decoding then?
You know why multichoice's product is called a decoder, right? And yes, it has a cat 5 port and is internet enabled.
Decode the stream perhaps?
