New DStv services in the works

They are going to introduce an all new in between bouquet with a few extra sports and movie channels.

Its more my dream to pay like R299/mth for a bouquet with both either cricket and football or golf or motorsport and rugby and football plus a movie channel that's worth while. Its so expensive to watch cricket or rugby.
 
Speaking of selecting channels in your own bouquet ... what happened to ICASA (or some other abbreviation) with it's channel unbundling inquiry it started last year? Haven't picked up on anything in the mainstream media.
Wonder is perhaps some promises were made by the operators, to buy time and delay the whole process for a few years???
 
Unbundling is highly unlikely - everyone pays so that some may enjoy the more rubbish channels on offer.

What they should really do is allow the pick and choose bundles and see what people are interested in, maybe they can drop some of that dead weight that they carry. But nope, they will keep on reaming the subscribers for the 7 channels that people actually watch.
 
DSTV is overpriced. With the advent of cheaper uncapped internet and services like Apple TV and Roku, they are becoming more and more irrelevant in my eyes. I ditched them many years ago and have not looked back since. For one, I don't miss their appalling accounts department who never gets it right.

Personally, my subscription will be cancelled as soon as I'm able to find a decent online (and live) source for F1.
