I've bought a new house. And the first thing I checked was fibre coverage.

I checked on OpenServ, Afrihost and Telkom fibre coverage maps and they all show 100mbps. Which is cool.

I am CLUELESS w.r.t fibre, who the role players are and who to stay away from.

OpenServe appears to be the last mile (I think that's what it's called) provider. Which means I could use Telkom or Afrihost. But Vumatel isn't available.

Any recommendations? Or where to from here?

Well look at what you are going to use the line for? how many users devices that should determine the line speed that is going to be needed, secondly openserve supports voice for the land line, personally Telkom uncapped is better as the threshold for throttling is higher.

Openserve is the wholesale arm of Telkom. Their Fibre offer is very similar to adsl except instead of copper it’s Fibre. All ISPs which offer DSL will be able to provide service via Openserve as technically you can use any DSL account on Openserve.

Thank you

So who use. Telkom, Afrihost or Vodacom? There is another provider called CloudConnect in our area.

Prices all seem familiar however only Afrihost seems to have the premium, uncapped, no throttle option.

Telkom unlimitedhome package is good value for money.

Well for the 100Mbps option you should probably look at like R1299 for uncapped undhaped.
Vodacom, Level7, Cellc and then you have have Telkom directly with their unlimited plan. Vox could also be an option.

With Openserve the options seem endless.

I would however try and choose wisely as it is very easy to switch fibre accounts between ISP s but a little bit harder to move the fibre line from provider to provider and most deals offer value when sold as a bundled package fibre data + line.
