Can we not have a seperate forum for Cell C ? ie seperate Virgin Mobile.

I know that VM run's on Cell C, but 90% of the issues reported/discussed here have nothing to do with Cell C, and have more to do with service problems and system issues with VM themselves.

I don't think the numbers are suitable for a seperate forum.

Granted the numbers might be low, that is most probably true however we are unfairly putting a negative bias on Cell C by grouping them together with VM.

I think it's only fair that they get treated correctly, and not have negative responses potentially affecting public opinion incorrectly.

This door swings both ways, I'm sure VM don't want to be unfairly viewed or treated if a problem or service is Cell C's issue.

There are after all 4 mobile service providors in the country and there should therefore be 4 forums dedicated to each one.

There are only 3 cellular network operators in SA: Vodacom, MTN and CellC.

Virgin Mobile is one of several [searchforum]MVNO[/searchforum]s, VM is only a MVNO for the CellC network, whereas others tend to be MVNOs for Vodacom and MTN and CellC, an example would be Nashua Mobile, there are others.

I chose my wording carefully for that reason. But that is besides the point.

VM are completely independent on the Cell C network, they just use the network and bill and provide their own branded SIM cards and service. As far as a user is concerned VM is a service provider, and hence from a users perspective this forum is bad for VM and Cell C as they each get tarnished by the others bad service etc.

Nashua Mobile / Autopage basically just resell MTN, Vodacom, Cell C etc

Ag Virgin wont be here for much longer. So then they can just delete all the posts related to virgin. :D

A sub forum is better than nothing, we just need to ensure that posts are moved to the correct forum. I don't mind assisting with the process.

Just had a bright spark, why not create a new forum called Cell C, then move the existing forum into it as a Sub forum and rename it VM. I'm happy to assist to ensure posts are moved correctly.

VM subforum, yes, I agree. Then in future all MVNO's can be in subforums on the networks they're piggy backing on.

I think that would be a great idea, as mentioned I'm happy to assist in moving threads to the correct forum or sub forum. :)

I'm surprised that anybody remains on VM data at all. Word of mouth alone should by now suggest that it is not tenable.

x2

Ok i agree, 2 seprate forums. why not have a poll on this? because VM is seen as a seprate network. where as NM is seen as a service provider "IC". when cellc was was piggy backing big time off VC we did (and still) don't post in the VC forum?

cheers

Why the 'red thumbs down' x2, and what I can only describe as animosity in your post?

I can only assume that you are incorrectly assuming that I was against having a sub-forum for Virgin Mobile - if you review my previous posts in this thread, you will see that I expressed no such opinion, nor is it my decision to make - it is rpm's decision to make.

This may not be neccessary, at the moment there are so many problems with Cell C as well.
Currently the Pavillion shopping mall in Durban has issued an eviction order to the Cell C store, and there are several other store owners having problems, and a few have begun legal proceedings against Cell C. When internal problems like this start, the end is near! Customer service is deteriorating daily.

It is only a matter of time.....

I suspect its more like those stores are not making it, and can't pay rent.

The stores are franchise stores and hence the owner has to pay his own rent, especially if the store is in its 3rd year or older then he has to pay all his own rent.

Have had the worst service ever from cell C,they should move there network outer space and give coverage to aliens
