Hi All,

Sorry if there's already a similar thread... I did look at a few pages of threads.

I heard that a new HD PVR is on it's way, and it should be much cheaper than the current one. Does anyone have any more information about this? Things like:
Who will make the decoder?
What it will cost?
What size the HDD will be?
etc...

Thank you all!!!

ok, is this a limit on the decoder? or is it just because the channels are broadcast in 720?

Well it wont be Full HD that is for sure. MonoChoice only broadcasts in 720.

Everyone Broadcast at 720p or 1080i... never 1080p.

@ TBlaar - Only difference on the new decoder will be the manufacturer (UEC) and it will have a S-video output (who still uses S-Video?)

Next year there will be a smaller HD PVR at a lower price. No details available yet.

I think this is the one I heard about.... Hope it does not suck... But with one HD channel on DSTV and not much quality programming to record, a smaller HD VPR will be sufficient for my needs...

they delivered a better product than their competitors.... oh hold on, they have no competitors.... which then means.... they delivered the best product our market has seen!!!!

It's not useless input, it's a complaint - maybe you didn't get it ?

Multichoice haven't delivered a decent product and their timeline for that is not looking good

I completely understand what you meant. I just think that you don't know what you are talking about.

Well, if you are defending MC here then I would have to question whether you know what you are talking about.

I've been waiting for a decent HD product (even 720p is OK) for some years, and I just don't see anything useful on the horizon.

from your link:
....and by the end of the year DIRECTV promises to begin offering movies in full 1080p resolution. ....

so they don't yet...

anyway, why the silly battle, I asked about the new decoder, and nobody has news... please stop taking a **** on my thread, or battle elsewhere...
