Hi guys could you please help me here. I've got R7 000 to buy myself a completely new gaming computer, here's what I'm planning on getting:

CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E6750 - R1600
Graphics card: ECS 8800GT 512MB - R2500
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R - R1600
RAM: not sure yet (any suggestions)
Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 160gb, SATA2 ,7200rpm - R550

Well thats what I'm getting so far. Should I upgrade on the CPU? Any suggestions ?

Well don't know if it is but look for a HD with 16mb cache, maybe wait with the upgrade a little as the new penryn chips are being released late january and will be cheaper with higher clocks.
And as killa suggested. Excellent ram. You planning on OC'ing?

OK I'll wait until Jan. I'll OC when I get more money for better cooling.

Rectron are selling 1GB DDR2-800 sticks for about R200 now. And AFAIK you've access to Rectron.

Where are you getting that CPU? Nice price..

If you buy the RAM killa linked too at computersonly then you can get an Asus 8800GT from them for R2400.

Perhaps get a Quad Core to futureproof it a little unless you intend to upgrade frequently.

I'm getting all my parts instead of the graphics card from Rectron so I think I'll get the Ram from there too which means I should have enough for a quad core.
