New GP numberplates from April

We were talking about the lick and stick licence squares that used to be given to you with T number plates. Looks as if they want to re-introduce them.

:erm: Don't recall ever seeing them but then again I didn't have license or even the ability to operate a car at that point so such things were beyond my interests

:erm: All these kids around

:D :D :D

They were a rectangle about 5cm x 8 cm big, and you had to lick or wet them and then stick them on your windscreen. At the end of each year, you simply washed off the old one and stuck on the new one. great in theory, but a total pain if you had to replace your windscreen as the old one had to be taken back to the licensing department, complete with broken piece of windscreen and replaced!

Off topic - when did we switch from T to GP plates? About 1997?
