Hi guys - for those who have posted comments about updated software being available (or contacted our call centre) - please note that this is a false alarm. There were some test downloads taking place this morning which may have been the cause (some customers may even have inadvertently received this software). If you are one of these customers, we would prefer that comments relating to this new software be sent to our test team at [email protected]. We are running quite extensive field trials on updated software, but as has been the case previously, we will not pre-emptively communicate launch dates until testing is complete and the "fat lady" has sung. Until then.....

They are both DVB-S capable, i.e satellite.

Oh, so I was wrong. Was just looking at the back of the two models and didn't see the 2/4 LNB connections like the current models.

Now where have I read this before?....oh yes... been reading similar statements on the DSTV forum for the past 4 years regarding the SD PVR.

Excuse me for being cynical, but as far as PVR software upgrades go, MC has never been able to deliver what was promised - both in terms of target dates and expected fixes. Let's see if they are finally able to deliver.

P.S. I see a lot of HD PVR's for sale or to swop for SD versions soon.

+1, thought I was the only one lol, maybe it should look like a sky hd box.

These guys are like Microsoft when they brought out Vista (HD PVR) they tried to push crap on everyone to beta test a "finished" good, people didn't like and ran back to XP (SD PVR). Now that they have stopped production/sales of XP (SD PVR), and people are forced to find stores that still have it in stock or buying it second hand. Hopefully this UEC brings some type of "Windows 7" hope.

I noticed the same thing. Mine is a lot faster the last two days.

From what I've heard... Check Sig Ver under Loader Status to see if upgrade has been done. It is currently ver. 12 on my machine. Each time that number goes up you've had an upgrade. If yours is lower than 12, there should be a DSD Upgrade available for you.

With the previous upgrade, they also upgraded a test group first. Does it feel like a big improvement?

It is much more responsive. Menus are way quicker and TV guide populates way quicker. Hopefully recording instability is fixed too.

Just to re-iterate from me again. HD PVR and M-Net HD was the biggest let down. Sure the quality is great, but the software is so bad it makes me scared to change the channel in case it freezes. And still, no supersport HD. Just endless repeats.
