I will wait until i have an hd tv firstly and i will only buy an hd tv when dstv actually starts broadcasting major sport in HD.

Am I correct in understanding that you can only get HD output from the PVR when it is connected via HDMI?

Connecting it via Component YPrPb (RGB) will not give you an 720i/p HD image?

Although it is possible, you are correct. They are not licensed to output 720p on component, because there is no content protection like with the HDMI.
