New HD PVR update released

Just had a call from an installer who also gets the error message. Might be a general problem. I would say try again later...
 
Mine gave a error message, I reboot the decoder and now it's downloading
 
E-mail I received from DSTV:

This software will be downloaded to your HD PVR decoder over the course of the next week, however, you also have the option to manually download the latest software. To do this :

* Ensure that there are no recordings in progress (or scheduled for the next hour)
* Reboot the decoder (switch power off / switch power on), wait for full video & audio to resume.
* Press MENU to load the Decoder Menu
* Select Advanced Options
* Enter 9949
* Select DSD Upgrade
* Wait for the red button to appear and then press red to initiate the software download
* Warning! Do not interrupt the download process (it could take up to 40 minutes) and wait for normal video and audio to resume



Did it and is working fine!

Didn't take 77 minutes, was quicker than that.

Now DSTV, please, please, please, get an alpha search feature working. I can't find a repeat of Dexter, and I NEED to see episode 1 before episode 2 next week. (I might have to <shudder> watch it in SD on the VOD).
 
I noticed some comments that the DSTV servers may be overloaded with all the downloads. Bear in mind however this is a broadcast service, so if one person or one million people download it makes no difference. The data is being sent in a continious loop on one of the satellite channels.
 
My HD PVR said 77 minutes to upgrade. It's been caught in a loop for the last 3 hours with flashing error lights on the front. I don't know what to do. I don't think its gonna come out of it.

They have said the 77 mins is wrong, mine took around 22 mins.
Looks like your only option is to reboot & start again, just it hasnt stuffed anything up on your side

It's in a continuous loop of rebooting. I think the upate has completely fried my unit.
 
mine went through no problems.

I'm glad the interactive channels are back.

changing channels is faster but not that much faster.

FF and RW seems to be more stable.

Lets see how it goes.
 
Mine also went through no problems - changing channels is definitly faster, but not as fast as my old decoder - definitly a huge improvement = me happy :D
 
PS: It does not take 77 mins to download. Took about 10-15 mins.

And yes the update has definitely speeden up the box and it is much more of a pleasure to use the HD Pvr now. Not so slow and sluggish as it use to be.

drjeep, have you bought from dvbshop.tv before? Do you know what their shipping costs are like?

Yes, M-Net HD works fine although you'll need at least a 3.0GHz CPU for smooth playback

I've placed several orders with dvbshop over the years. Shipping was around 20 euro last time I ordered
