So I currently am using the JBL E55BT and for what I need use them for work great. Great battery life and sound etc.

I now need to get my fiance new headphones and can either get her the same or give her mine (basically still new) and get myself an upgraded pair.

I see today TakeAlot have the updated ones on special: JBL E65BTNC - these offer better battery life and noise cancelling.

Then looking at other offers on TakeALot I found these: Sennheiser HD 4.50 - they offer same functionality as the JBL but are R500 more.

I have only used JBL for last few pairs of headphones and never tried Sennheiser but have heard good things about them.

My question is are they worth the R500 extra and more importantly any good? Is there something else I should be considering in that price range?

Mainly used for music, PC usage and occasionally on XBOX.

Check out massdrop and bring down a pair using post box courier. They get high end models for a fraction of the retail price.

Fair enough. I personally would take the risk as one can get a super high end pair of headphones for 3 times cheaper than retail.

Yeah agree but also you need to play the waiting game for a pair you want - I need to find a pair as soon as possible.

I might keep a lookout and if a good deal comes around buy them as a second pair.

But for now need to know what I can get locally and soon.

Thanks for this.

Aren't those more for "one place listening" and not really for travelling?

yeah, with the little base station definitely more one place... the bluetooth sennies you linked, i dunno, they probably sound good but they look very big, heavy and bulky and sweaty...

I prefer the bigger ear cups as I like over ear as appose to on-ear especially for longer listening etc.

The current E55BT JBL I have now are really good but just deciding whether to go for the E65 JBL or try the Sennheiser ones linked as they both have great reviews.

You should seriously consider buying yourself an Audioquest Dragonfly. This plus flac files plus decent headphones = :D

The headphones are mainly used for listening to music while working, traveling etc. occasionally connect them to Xbox when gaming but very seldomly.

Just looking for something that sounds good and works that is wireless / Bluetooth.

Then give the sennies a bash, surely theres a dion wired or some shop near by that have sample sets?

Was thinking just to get them and if not what I expected to return and get the JBL E65 as the ones I have now are the E55 and only difference apparently is the noise cancelling on the E65.

So a new curve ball - now deciding wether I get a pair of headphones I can use to game with on Xbox one x, pc and use to listen to music / YouTube etc.

Well xbox cant use bluetooth so your out of luck there. I dont think there is a headphone which can be used for PC + X box + away from pc... you could plug them into the remote, which defeats the purpose but i think you gotta settle thats its one or the other
