New Internet Explorer window does not open in fullscreen.

Hi all. When I click on a link inside IE which opens up a new window, this new window isn't full screen, but only opens up to a third of the width of the screen. How can I change it to always open up in full screen? I already went to the "Advanced" tab, and reset the Internet Explorer to the default settings, but this did not solve my problem.

This is on my work computer, so suggestions of using Chrome or Firefox will not work. We are forced by our network administrator and corporate network policy to use Internet Explorer.

Any suggestions?
 
Close all your IE windows with the exception of one.

Resize the one to a bigger size (ie not maximised) and then close that one.

New windows use the last size of the last closed window - if that makes sense...

I had the same issue a couple of months ago and found a solution very similar to this that works (it's a known bug). You close all your tabs save one and then open this link in that tab http://tinyurl.com/IETabFix.
 
Also check that websites are not allowed to resize windows via Javascript. (If it's on a specific website.)

I have already stated that I cannot use any other browsers, such as Chrome which you so cleverly disguised in your "fix".

To put it this way, on my work laptop I cannot install any programs, I cannot uninstall any programs, I cannot change my screensaver, I cannot change my background, all games has been removed and cannot be re-enabled, I cannot upgrade to IE9 or downgrade to IE7. Our company considers your computer as something you work with, and can only be used as such.

That was a very sad paragraph. :(

I understand that a company computer is something that you work with but hell they should at least let you update your browser. Now not only are you forced to use IE but you aren't even allowed to use the latest version!

Unfortunately I do not have a solution for you. The only solution I could find after a quick google is to install a plugin but I guess you can't do that either.
 
I also tried to Google for a few solutions, but none seems to work. I will just have to live with it!:cry:
 
I can't remember which on it is, so you'll have to try both:

**1**
1) Close all Internet Explorer windows except one.
2) Maximise the window
3) Hold the [Ctrl] button & close the Internet Explorer window down.

**2**
1) Close all Internet Explorer windows except one.
2) Maximise the window
3) Hold the [Shift] button & close the Internet Explorer window down.

One of these options will hopefully work.

I worked as an IT Consultant at a university up until earlier this year.
There were at least 75% of the machines still running IE6....
We were not allowed to update it for a majority of the users due to the in house developed student system requiring IE6 along with Acrobat 9 or lower.
So what we had to do was install FireFox (Couldn't use Chrome as it likes to create way to many network connections, and the Proxy server had a 10 concurrent connections per IP limit.), and set it up to NOT be the default browser. Then just tell the end user to use the desktop shortcut for when they wanted to actually browser a site properly online, as IE6 is severely handicapped.

You have one option though OP, and quite a easy one.

Download the apps there that you want to use, and you won't have to install them.
Just use them from your external drive or a flash. Works wonders. I used portable apps a lot in the past, saved hundreds of hours over the last couple years by just running apps on end users machines from a flash.

Everyone should give them a shot. Hope this will really help solve your major problem which is actually that you're forced to use IE.
 
get and download ie9 full version. msg me, download it from the microsoft downloads section.
