New iPad (iPad 3)

We just received the new iPad, and the more I deal with the latest iPad the more I realize that Apple should just name it the iPad 3. When searching for information on it, what do you call it? When trying to buy one, what do you search for on online stores etc.

What is particularly irritating is that there is no real difference between the iPad 2 and iPad 3 packaging. I think a few people will pay for iPad 3s and then actually get iPad 2s.

Also, sell someone a sealed iPad 2, it's new.. so it's a new iPad.. just the old generation.. but still, this could be an exploit on gumtree lol.

It's not too difficult finding video's and articles about it now, but what happens next year when the next one comes out.. the new new iPad? And what do you call the current one next year? The Old New iPad?

Next years one might be the new iPad S. :)

Maybe they will just name them iPad and refer to each version by their year of release like the MacBooks, Mac Minis etc. Or call them by generation like iPods. Whatever method they choose, "new iPad" is not a clever idea.
 
They should just give them names dammit !

Like iPad 1 = adam
iPad 2 = betty
iPad 3 = calvin

etc etc ad nauseam !

It actually took me a few minutes to make sure it was an iPad 3. The screen and the dictaphone are the easiest ways to see that it is in fact a third generation iPad.

Heheheh... imagine how those Samsung lawyers must have felt standing before the judge and having to spot their tablet from afar !

I guess you could have always counted the pixels per inch !
 
One thing's for sure. I won't enter the comp - as I'd piss off a few people by flogging it again :p :D

That R8000 notebook though will come in damn handy for my home music recordings on the fly :)

Indeed... once the winner is announced... the thumbs will be unheld and pitchforks and flaming torches will be clutched by the roused rabble! Especially if Dolby or Gary had to win it! Ye godz!

I want to see a winner take a pic of RPM handing over the New iPad and post it on the site, something different for a change. You don't have to do it but would be cool.

Congrats Uncle RPM for getting the new toy, i feel for Cara now :p
