Sooo...

With so many value packages recently surfacing, I was wondering if anyone ahs had a chance to try out the screamer/digichilli/afrihost, and what results they are getting.

I have used Webafrica trial account until last night and was getting a steady 300ms. If that is anything to go by when they roll out the new packages on their network, I will deffo join up.

In the mean time I have signed with Afrihost (I am a cheapskate...lol).

I get a steady 550ms with leatrix fix. Now Afrihost apparently doesnt use Seacom (I stand to be corrected), where as Screamer and Digichilli do. Anyone have any ideas what the latency is like on the Seacom cable?

Hey hey, I'm on Afrihost as well and I get between 400 - 450 about 90% of the time. Thats with two people playin wow at the same time.

I too was using my Trial account till last night and having sub 300ms pings most of the time was just fantastic, switched bat to my telskum account and straight away back to 650+ :(

Who is using what and getting the better latencies please?

Backup (Previous) ISP: Webafrica (You guys rock but R125/gig was 'eavy on my pocket)
Current ISP: Afrihost
Line: 512k
Leatrix Fix
Ave. latency: 270ms - 400ms (2 - 3 x WoW accounts running)
Current status: Happy :) (Decent latency and light on the pocket)

Web Africa is switching over their network within the next few days, their shaped pings for WoW servers in europe was a stable 250ms (sometimes lower)

So I expect good things

Yup

I was very impressed, as 70% of my bandwidth goes towards WoW.

I hope their price will be as competetive as the rest of the "new" packages, then I will deffo switch back.
