New iTunes 8 ?!

Well downloaded and installed it and not very impressed. If you are in SA the Genius bar wont work for you. Sorry you are screwed. Also all my music is proper with all the album folders etc but the moment i select the grid view it is all screwed up.

Busy dl the 2.1 software update. Will see if there are any improvements
 
Well my albums was split all over the place. ex my Leonard Cohen was fine but my queen albums were a seperate album every 2 songs etc.But if you select the normal mode it is fine and the same with the coverflow mode. Only the grid view screws it up
 
you can use Genius with a south african itunes account... I will ask theuselessness to post a tutorial of how he got it to work..

and for the record.. i think genius is freakin' awesome, works on my US account perfectly.. saves a lot of time and recommendations from the store are spot on!

MMmm cannot see how it can work with the South African account since we cannot access the music part of iTunes. Yip also works with my iTunes account. New update to iPod touch is very snappy sofar and backup is a snap. Couple of other cosmetic changes etc.
 
I frikken love the Genius recommendations, they are spot on.
But then, I do have 300 GB of music for it to select from.

WOW. Man that must have cost a fortune buying all that music and ripping :eek:

Anyways, I hope Apple releases a patch to improve battery life they always do :)
 
Mail me your HDD and R1000 and I'll copy it over.
 
LOL how do I set up an iTunes account so I can use Genius without a credit card?

The genius bar works perfectly fine for me. Secondly, if you don't like the grid view, don't use it! You mention yourself that there are two other viewing options - so what's the problem?
 
Genius not so smart?

Anyone concerned that Genius phones home the details of your library to Apple? Or that you don't get to choose to turn off the phone home feature, or that you don't get to choose to make it a once-off transmission?

Why does this thing have to send ANY info to Apple at all?

Its not like Apple can't be sued the same way YouTube was and forced to turn over all that data to the SAMA or RIAA?

Sounds like a train-smash waiting to happen.
 
i really don't care what info apple sends home... all they are getting is what music i choose to put together in the same play list... whoopy freakin' doo???

How do you think its going to make recommendations if it doesnt analyse what music you have? :confused:

Genius comes disabled and warns you that it is going to send some info back to the mothership - hardly nefarious and if you're worried about your pirated music collection then just dont activate it ;)

Last.fm had already been doing that (Genius recommendations) for ages... Big woop.
But I suppose having it integrated into iTunes could be nice. But Last.fm lets you listen to most songs on their radio...
