New keyboard

That thing might as well be vapourware. It's been the biggest joke/hype of the century so far. :P

I really like this one, but can't afford it - US$ 1692.31 !

I know they're rather plain, but I like my MS keyboards...

very nice! wow thats a ridicules price!

You've been living in the dark if you've heard of that keyboard and it's overhyped history. :D I'm still wondering if they've ever actually sold one.

If you must have OLED displays on your keyboard then try this from OCZ:

Does anyone here own an Enermax Aurora? I've been wanting one for some time. Just kind of thing the black version with silver lines and blue lighting seems pretty 80s. I'm just stuck on notebook-style scissor keys.

Yeah, I've been eying the same one. The laptop style keys is one thing that pworries me as well.

No worries there. The "laptop" style keys are excellent. Less travel needed than normal bulky keys, yet slightly more than normal laptop keys. They're pretty good really. I find laptop keyboards a bit hard as I'm used to pressing keys a little further than expected. On my Logitech dinovo however they're perfect and on the Logitech UltraX they're even perfect-er.

I've unfortunately used other laptop-style keyboards from other manufacturers and found them to be terrible. They actually "clack" more and wobble around a bit. Just curious as to whether the Enermax has a Logitech scissor key feel to it. If it does I might consider dumping another R500 for one for the office.

Just bought the Enermax Aurora silver keyboard. The keys are awesome, the keyboard is heavy, it has audio ports and a USB hub. Keys are much softer than the Logitech UltraX, but one gets used to it. The keys are also much quieter and less clicky than the Logitech. Aluminium is top notch solid stuff.

Any downsides? This is not the current Aurora keyboard so it seems the USB is just 1.1 and not USB 2.0 and the audio is passthrough (i.e. the new Aurora carries an audio card). No media keys, but I don't need that for the office.

It's pricey for what it is, but it sure is sweet. The UltraX at less than half the price actually has more going for it if you don't need a USB hub and audio ports on your desk.

My Logitech G15 blue backlight gaming keyboard packed up just a week ago, it was probably less than two years old, the usb still works but when its plugged in it keeps repeating the letter ' and then everything goes from bad to worse TH for system restore in win7. It was a nice keyboard while it lasted. Im considering going for the razor arctosa for R418 which seems like a good deal. Never get these dumb roll up plastic keyboards, they useless,,and if you want a useless keyboard contact me

If my G15 packed up today I'd get the Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard.

Goes for around R500-R600.

I don't know how you use all this ugly keyboards, guys! After BTC 5107 I cannot use all these "modern monsters". Look at handy Enter key, layout of Home/End block, place of Backslash... One change from this ideal and it become s_it.

What's so fantastic about that plastic thing? The layout is just about standard. The 3 most potentially useless buttons could have gone where the logo did.

And it looks like you need Everest climbing skills to reach over the keys. :D

As for "ugly"... well...

Mind you, alot of these fancy keyboards still have huge keys and those I just don't like anymore after getting use to longer travel laptop style keys.

The best thing i have done is buy an expensive keyboard namely the g15, none of the keys are losing their numbers, letter etc. I used to go through a cheap 50 bucks keyboard every 3-4 months before i had this keyboard and it is going strong for almost 2 years now :D

Legendary keyboard.

No backlit keys = *throws up in my mouth a little*

I gave mine a Xmas present last year..... gave it a good cleaning. It needed it..... badly. :D

TheRift> The layout is just about standard.

Exactly. And this is most important stuff over all. Changing layout like moving rooms in flat - you always damn on this, permanently striking walls by head.

Uhm... most keyboards I have have standard layout. I do prefer the Logitech HOME section layout which gets rid of the insert key in place of double-sized delete key.

UHM LOL, so i cleaned ,stripped, banged and and sprayed some chemicals on my
G15 blue backlight keyboard, after it failed a few weeks ago.

It didnt work. The keyboard was still repeating keys. So i gave it a rest.
So another few days later i searched the receipt, which show my 2 year warranty expired a just a few days earlier LOL.

So i contacted logitech to ask if a few days later matters and what the problem was.
So they gave me something to try out.

But when i had plugged my keyboard back in.
IT WORKED 100% ?
HAHA

The threat of death, removal of power or imminent return-to-sender usually scares any electronic component back to life. :D
