All I can say is THANK GOD! I saw the ad on TV last night and it looks rather nice. I was offered an old one (new at the time) as a company car in 2007 and offered to pay the difference so that I could buy a car that I wasn't embarrassed to drive around in. I HATED the old design, it reminded me of a 1952 Standard Vanguard (Google that one) and I loathed the bloody thing, complete with square mudguards that looked hideous.

Long live the new one...along with the Queen...

Sorry folks, didn't think it was such a touchy subject. It's really not a big deal. I just see the lines as being a little similar. SAme boxy angular look. The headlight clusters wrap around the side panel at similar angles. They aren't identical but I see them as having a similar style.

If that was the case, I would have said that it looked similar to a Mini Cooper as well...also has boxy lines....BTW, have you SEEN a Daihatsu Terios in the flesh?? :wtf:

i don't understand the premium on the diesel, but it's still cheap. R40k-R30k cheaper than the ix35 depending on whether you take the optional panaromic sunroof = good value. now just need to test drive...

Have you compaired with the Hyundia iX35? I think the iX35 has slightly nicer lines.

Hyundai looks a bit girly IMHO. I would jump at the KIA if they still had a propper petrol model. Why kill off the V6??? Oh why, oh why! I blame the tree humpers.

the ix35 looks more feminine to me (my SU agreed). but that's just me.

I thought as much - basically you can make a bicycle look like a Harley Davidson if you start on those lines.

i stopped at kia northcliff yesterday after work, and apparently they will only be getting the diesels mid-september. wonder how true this is...

The Terios is apparently based on the Toyota Rav 4.
It's not a bad car either.

It may be based on a RAV 4 but I had the misfortune to visit a few sites as a passenger in one last month, and it is too narrow and appears to be top heavy, which you don't want in that type of vehicle. But to compare it with a much bigger KIA is crazy...
