New laptop, please help??

Hi Guys,

I posted this yesterday somewhere but i cant seem to find it! My mom got a new dell inspiron laptop last week. We use 8ta 3g with a Huewai E270 modem. I just cant seem to get it working!

Is there somewhere to download vodaphone mobile connect or something? Will they help me out if i take it past incredible connection?

You need to dump the voda software as it will only connect to voda network.
Download 8t'a dash or any other "mobile partner" dash.
If you've installed VMC you'll need to close it - checking also the sys tray - btm right

Thats weird, my laptop works just fine using VMC, should i still install the 8ta dashboard on my laptop? Will it make a difference?

Also, i dont think the drivers are installing on my moms laptop as when i put the modem in it doesnt make a sound or anything to recognise the device, it doesnt pick it up in my computer and so it wont connect on the 8ta dashboard.

What should i do?

VMC using a voda sim in the modem will work fine - your trying to use an 8ta sim in the modem tho yes?
Is VMC loaded on your Mom's laptop? if yes get rid of it -uninstall - reboot - & if it won't pick up anything try another USB port.

If the modem has VMC on it i'd suggest overwriting it - choose the "dashboard update" option from the drop box here

That will get VMC off the modem & give you a dash you can use with any 3G provider
