New laptop, pls advise?

With Parallels you can tab/swipe between OS X and Windows, run each on two screens, etc. (like VMs).

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it given what you need it for, and considering your budget almost allows for a Mac.

And also, i really want at least a 17 inch screen. I cant see myself with anything smaller.

I saw a chart just now where the different makes were compared, service, innovation quality, etc. Apple tops, then dell, then hp. So thats where i think its best to go.
 
Tell me, say I buy any of the above mentioned laptops, and I buy a ssd separate, can I, and is it legal to clone the hdd to the ssd, and install that into the laptop?

I don't see why not. Wootware even offers to do it for you for a fee:

Hey there, me again. I think I've narrowed the search down to 2 laptops. Pls tell me which one to choose, and why. I would say I prefer the Gigabyte over the HP, as the gigabyte are a quad core, and 2 years guarentee, over the HP 1 year. Both screen size and resolution is what I need, the gigabyte is R 1k more. Which would you choose?

The gigabyte is 1080p and is quad core

HP is dual core and not 1080p.

Easy to pick a choice.
