I meant they correspond with regards to the lens diameter. Look at the back of the lens, you'll see what I'm referring to. EF-S and DC are for APS-C sensors only, while EF and DG are for good for APS-C, full frame and everything in between.

It was in Amsterdam. Doesn't help that just about everything in that place is crooked anyway. But I do see some barrel distortion, and I'm learning to use it to my advantage. The one I had in mind was the side shot of the Arc de Triomphe - it really worked to my advantage on that one and ended up being a much nicer shot than the one that was taken from straight ahead with the 24-105.

Incidentally, the reviews on photozone.de show very low barrel distortion for both the 10-20 and 12-24 - I'm not sure how those charts are related to real life though, apparently not a lot.
 
It is EF equivalent. From Sigma's website:

DG (DG Lens)
These are large-aperture lenses with wide angles and short minimum focusing distances. With an abundance of peripheral illumination, they are ideal lenses for Digital SLR Cameras whilst retaining suitability for traditional 35mm SLRs.

Agreed, it looks nice.
 
One to keep in mind. The Canon 17-55 f/2.8 seems like a good option too - covers the same range and then some. From what I've read about it, it's L quality optics with slightly cheaper (but still very good) build quality. EF-S though.

They only seem to have an IS version locally.
 
I claim complete innocence and ignorance with regards to S.A. prices. But yeah, the Canon is more pricey.

I would go for the G9.....I own 1 awesome allround camera. for one the Macro feature is awesome. Its not cumbersome like my Nikon d70. Will not be sorry go for the G9

I'm still considering my options - might be having a visitor from NY soon so B&H would be my first choice of vendor.

I got my 10-20mm because I neede just a little bit more than what the 24-105 gives, but now I'm finding I'm really liking the shorter side of it. It gives me a different perspective to work with. I don't think I would have gotten the same impact out of the Arc de Triomph shot if I was using 24mm and standing further back.

I'm really loving that lens!

Really doesnt do it for me :(

Small bump in the road though as is it looks like the Sigma 20-40 isnt in production any more . . .

Wouldn't buy a lens on ebay - especially 2nd hand sight unseen. Last time I bought a lens from B&H I had it sent to my folks who took it to a pro to make sure it was 100%.
