New Lenses, Eyes Strained

So today I got new lenses for my frames and yet I find myself straining my eyes to the max. In fact everything in my right eye looks stretched and everything looks flat. So I asked the lady at the spectacle place whats up, and she tells me this is all normal and that it should take a week or so for me to adjust. But I have changed lenses before but never did I have to strain so hard. Is this normal? Will the straining end after a week? Or did they fsck up my eye test?
 
A week ? :wtf: is this lady trying to break your eyes for that pair of glasses. Im no optometrist but I really recommend you get a second opinion. Your glasses should be the same as the test where they insert those lenses in that funny frame thingy and ask you if its worst or not. Just ask them to double check perhaps they gave you the wrong pair or the orders got mixed up.

Also make IT PERFECTLY CLEAR that the straining you mentioning has nothing to do with excessive tearing or headaches but rather there is a distortion in the images itself.

I did tell her this. She said eyes must adjust. Sorry but I call BS.

When last did you have your eyes tested? are they worse than they were?

I had eye strain for about 5 days after changing last time round.

No I didnt lol, ok since you did tell her that, I suppose all you can do is listen.
 
I just collected my lens/frames today as well ;)

Looked - er - odd at first but only lasted a few hours and now it seems alright! I remember getting my last pair and it was the same. Shop assistant also told me a day or two, but only needed a few hours
 
I got my new lenses about 2 weeks back, I felt dizzy for a week, was so bad could not even drive. After about 8 days it adjusted and feels normal.
 
I had the same problem. I took glasses back within 3 days. She retested my eyes and said one lens had to be changed. Got my glasses in a couple of days and everything was fine. Sometimes when they test your eyes they can get the wrong prescription.
 
Was told the same thing. depth perception was a bit off. took a day or two and it was right.

Its not that simple, nothing with the human body ever is. Though beta carotine is essential building blocks for the eye and maintains cellular integrity, production and what not. So there no harm in providing the body with building blocks to build. If u severely under nourished it could boost vision but if you have damage to the eye or genetic problems it won't maraculously make them go away. Same concept for immune boosters, marketing multivitamin gimmick. Though there is no hard evidence to say so

It is not impossible that the lenses were swopped.

Can the doc not look on your chart and tell you which lense was for which eye and then tell the strength of the lenses?
 
I got new glasses early last year. Wore it for about a month, trying to adjust. Couldn't handle the headaches and strain anymore and then started using my 6 year old glasses.
All well. I'm still using it without any problems. The frame broke, took it to specsavers, they fixed it, but it broke again 2 weeks later on the same place. I soldered it and now nearly 2 years later it's still good.
