They do actually considering violence is taking a nose dive and there is only 160 000 of them gaurding an entire country. Of course if you had your way and they were removed there would be a dramatic increase in these kind of attacks. Bravo

I think alanf is right even if it isn't what he meant. Security of a nation is largely dependent upon the general population. The terrorists are targetting that very population - i.e. the people responsible for security.

I am not saying that there is security. But it would be wrong to say that there is no responsibility for it.

I think you are spot on - escalating sectarian violence until someone comes out on top. It won't be pretty. But it is inevitable.
