New Lumia range getting wireless charging

Hmm, same as the Braun toothbrushes for the last million years.

Wonder if Microsoft stole the patent, as Apple does to everyone ?

That is 100% whatsapp's fault. It worked fine until the latest release which screwed everything up.

Looks like my next upgrade due in Dec will still be a Nokia

Any news on the tablet side of things from Nokia.

In my opinion, tablets play a crucial part in any mobile OEM's success these days and would be handicapped without it.

The lack of information on a tablet from Nokia is seriously disconcerting.

The Galaxy SIII also has this, why no big deal about that?

Edit: Because it's not a big deal, obviously. Just strange that Nokia pretends it to be...

They have no plans to go into tablets afaik. This is probably wise,win8 tablets are hugely saturated and still unproven.

Now, sir, you haven't been using your common sense once again.

Could you please provide us with some sources where Nokia is bragging about their wireless charging ? No, you cannot, because this is leaked info. Does samsung not even mention wireless charging in the manual or tech spec list, or do they specifically state that it is an old useless feature ?

thx

One would have thought that since Nokia is Windows' main partner in their new strategy, they would be the ones to be the first movers. I just expected Nokia to set the pace and they are falling further behind with tablets.

The problem is that this is a new market altogether (the Win8 market) and it is ready for the taking. By the time Nokia release their tablets, most people would have been sold out on those from Samsung for instance, myself being one of those such people. The Ativ tab and Ativ Smart PC's are looking pretty great. If Nokia doesn't release a 10.1'' tablet tomorrow, the only money they can ever hope of getting from me would be from their phones. I really hope that they have at least a phablet to pull out of the hat tomorrow.

Phablet....../shudders.

Look I'm not sure why ms cut them out of surface, it seems like they would have been ideal for that project. But tablets are a hard market to make money in.

look at powermat , wireless charging is mostly possible for any device

I think Nokia will be having their own Pulse service as the primary IM service and Whats App will fall into the pit from whence it came

if this is the case, then I retract my comment about mango OS. first impressions last though... regardless of who's fault it is!

Well yea... we're also struggling with it a lot on the 610 and my wife was ready to also chuck the phone. But all sources say it broke during the last WA update, and before that it was fine. So I'm just hoping they fix it snappy-time because it ruins the whole experience.
