new Mac OS ??

sorry Im a Mac noob

Im a PC pro though

so my gf is going back to Canada (she has a Mac with OS X ver. 10.3.9) and the new webcams need a min version of the OS, correct? like this one, needs at least 10.4.11

So what I need to know is how I got about upgrading this OS to a later version? Is it possible? And can I do it myself?

If I'm not mistaken, it's the same process as reinstalling Windows. Backup, boot from the Leopard install disc and install. Actually, it's a bit easier, since it will give you the option of "Archive and install" and "Clean and install". Considering the major overhaul performed on Mac OS X since 10.3, I'd rather perform a clean install.
