Simple, they rip us off!!! Prices of any apple machine is 30-40% higher than it is in other countries... it really cant cost that much to import!!

Thx for the reply. In a nutshell, Core screws over their resellers, they screw over their customers, any SA Mac fan would try and source their gear from overseas or through a grey reseller just to screw Core over. These words come from somebody who worked for them, as some of the words that you will read later from other people..

Wow, thank you for telling me. I really never knew any of this, i always thought they were rather good, not that i've had extensive dealings with them. Thank you for explaining, its much appreciated.

Though about it but my older 17" still has way too much life left in it . . . unfortunately.

The only new mac I'd be tempted to get right now would be a netbook.

What? where? did I miss something??

there's something fishy here... if you know who core are, and you know of stores like C3, then you'd know the issues people have with core. I'd believe you if you'd said the usual Apple South Africa... How do you know about core? do you work for one of the resellers?

I know about core through www.zastore.co.za, thats where the apple site took me, i do not sell macs at all, and i know about all the other stores because of a friend. I have nothing to do with any of the stores except buying from them the odd computer or accessory. Thats it. I am not connected with any store, reseller, importer ect. The only other mac related company i have had dealings with would be ww computers, bought some stuff from them and then they blew my motherboard and refused to replace it. Thats pretty much my complete history of mac. Any other questions feel free to ask

I love core, i buy from them at any possible opportunity, its much more exciting when u dont know when ur product is going to be delivered, or even what is going to be delivered.....like christmas actually....in fact everyday at core is like christmas, very busy and rushed around, u cant get anyone to help, there is no stock and all the prices have been doubled for no apparent reason other than its that time of the year...

So feel free to shop at core/za store, where everyday is christmas and for some reasons only tuk users could possible fathom, the distributor also sells direct to the public and cuts out the resellers they are supposed to be supporting....

damn I wish we could make that into a get-a-mac type advert for tv...

Hi, I a Mac, and I love core... I buy from them....

I've heard Core cleaned up their act. They now answer phones, call back and have stock, expecially on Saturdays when the boss isn't there.;)
