Mighty expensive piece of hardware to buy without a local warranty.

You can get Core to import a special configuration Macbook Pro for you, but you just have to wait 6 weeks for it to arrive. Did it with my rMBP last year when I wanted 16GB and it wasn't a standard option.

Core will respect the warranty if you pay customs duties though? You can often have the seller send you the Apple receipt etc. Laptops have international warranty.

And about the warranty.... how often do laptops break down? I've had a Sony Vaio keyboard break down AFTER WARRANTY. I did the repair myself. I've had faulty third party RAM on a Mac Pro and in an ancient Pentium 4 system. These were all small problems and relatively cheap to handle.
Computers and hardware these days just don't fail, if they're from reputable makers. The laptop will most likely become outdated before it fails.
 
I think on the Mac the overpricing is for the os that they keep on saying its free and ups screen....
But mainly they price hardware to keep the company profits high to meet apple investor expectation.........

A company sells a product for a profit? Well, I never!
 
I want the new i7 MBP to replace my 2 year old i7 MBP. I just don't have R32k lying around for a new laptop...
