New computer worm hits Iran

Iran has been hit with new malicious software as part of cyber attacks against the country, a military officer told Mehr news agency on Monday without specifying the target.

In conversation over the weekend, it was mentioned that the malware targeting Iran were possibly just testing the capability of "low-grade" viruses as forerunner to something more sinister and damaging. Whilst it sort of makes sense, it could all just be conspiracy theory. However, where their is smoke, often there is fire too.

Nonetheless, I find this interesting.

Edit: I see the article makes no mention of possible origin of this latest attack.

just another zionist attack on a sovereign nation, nothing new.

Any wild guess?

A guess would be the US (aka CIA, as they're always seem to be linked this sort of sunt), maybe Israel (no love lost there), China (heard they're throwing huge 'tom' at cyber warfare, but unless they're testing their stuff, they have nothing to gain from this).

Stuxnet's level of sophistication was astounding. The level of intelligence information required to create a virus with such specific target host requirements also leads me to believe that the origin of these attacks come from a certain power of super proportions.
