So then, noticed that Mazda were displaying the new 3 and 6 models at Menlyn mall the other day, and the 3 actually looked pretty darn nice to me. Checked up on the website and I see that they do have some pretty cool features in, like a thin glass pop up above the speedo that acts as a pseudo HUD showing speed and nav info etc.

Anybody driven one yet, seen any on the roads? Going to try and drive one next week myself, as my curiosity has awoken.

Love the looks of the acclaimed new 3. Glad they brought the Astina nameplate back as well.

New 3 should do wonders for the brand locally.

Looks good. Interior has a bit of an Audi feel to it. Not that that is a bad thing at all.

That's pretty cool

Interesting that the 1.6 engine they are selling is in fact from the previous generation. The new generation (internationally) has a 1.5l engine that produces 74kW, as opposed to the old 1.6 that only produces 77kW.

So Mazda SA is screwing us and giving us old engines.

EDIT: Also they give us 5 speed manuals as opposed to the 6 speed manuals we should be getting.

I'd rather have the older more powerful 1.6. Engine technology between the old and new is pretty much the same.

Can't say I agree on the exterior looks, I much prefer the new model.

Didnt get to go to the dealership today, hoping to go on Tuesday.

One annoyance so far is that it seems like the top of the range astina is not available in auto.
