New Merc A class is here..

I am / was actually considering the A250, but I'm now leaning more towards the GTI 7 (again). Will have to take it for a test drive first and then see what the GTI will price on release.

I've read some reviews on the A250... One from Jeremy Clarkson and one or two others and the one thing they all said is that the ride is very hard and uncomfortable. Secondly, there are a couple of things that come standard in the GTI which you have to pay extra for in the Merc and then finally the new GTI will have slightly more power.

Is the A250 rear wheel drive?

I reserve my verdict when the price of the a 45 amg comes out

I'm seeing a few on the roads, it's not a classy hatch, the one series looks more premium than this little Merc, I've seen two A250 with the AMG kit and a lot of the cheaper models, they look odd, not premium from the outside, the 10 year old A3 style still looks better and I'm no fan of the A3.
They don't look good in white and silver that's for sure, ill wait for summer for a final verdict, right now I wouldn't buy it.

I am also not a fan.
The AMG body kit makes it look a bit better but the stock standard looks atrocious :puke:

Butch brother and X1/Q3 competitor will be available by the end of the year or early next year...

Pics released today shows that they stayed faithful to the concept car. I'd take it over the German competitors, but would prefer a V40 Cross Country.

Haven't seen the V40 XC. Would be interesting perhaps.
I like both the X1 and the Q3, although they are both in need of some extra ground clearance.

I was just quoting the reviewer.

Reviewer is way out.
The X1 is built on the 1 series chassis, afaik.
The Q3 was built on the A3 chassis and the GLA is being built on the A-class platform.

The X3, btw, is the same size (give or take an inch here and there) as the original X5.
