New motherboard

Hi,

I am planning on upgrading my motherboard in a few days, I have a budget of about R1350 It doesn't have to be the best, All I need is a FSB of 1333mhz, DDR2 1066mhz support 4 RAM slots and one PCI-Express 16x 2.0 slot, any other extras are optional, but I would like to stick to Asus or Gigabyte or even MSI, please if anybody knows of an motherboard for about that price let me know.

anyone know where I can get a motherboard tomorrow....My mobo died, so I need a cheap replacement till it gets sorted
 
NVM... got a Gigabyte G31 board from matrixwarehouse... Paid a premium.... but I got my pc running and went to the LAN... :)
 
Thanks, I took Asus P5Q, great board... although my pc keeps bombing out on both my XP and Win 7 installations... I'm thinking its the PSU , so anyone know of a good PSU for R500-R600?
 
I have the following:
Intel Core2Duo E6300 1.86Ghz
Asus P5Q SE Motherboard
2Gb DDR2 one 667 and one 800 stick
Samsung DVD Writer
ATI HD4850 1GB
2x 160GB hard drives
Running Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows XP Pro, none of them are running stable

I had a overclock on the CPU to 3Ghz, but I took it of to see if it makes a difference but it didn't I'm leaving it at stock speed now as I can't use it atm.

Does the pc bsod or does it just switch off randomly (switch off not shut down)? Have you tried running it with only one stick of ram, one hdd, mobo and cpu? If that does not solve your problem try running everything on a testbed
 
No it just randomly dies, and then it restarts again automatically, nothing inside is hot, all the components worked before I changed the mobo, I'm going to try running only one of each... Thanks, I'll let you know how it works out...

So everything worked before and the only thing that you changed was the mobo...? It sounds like possibly a PSU problem but if everything worked before I don't see why it wouldn't now...hmmmmm.....
 
Well the Reason I upgraded was that my old Mobo only had PCI-Ex 16x 1.0 And My graphics card supports 2.0, the graphics card is probably drawing more power now? Anyway I tried the ram sticks one for one, still no luck...
