That should be fine. I still fail to see why it would work now when it did before unless something got damaged in the installation procedure...you sure you reconnected everything properly...everything seated etc...?
 
Don't buy that psu, its an utter piece of cr@p! Rather get the Coolermaster extreme power 550w. Its the same price at prophecy
 
Ah okay yeah I might go for the Coolermaster then... Well I connected a second PSU to my PC for now, I know its not ideal but its only a temporary solution, the problem is now I keep getting BSOD, most of the time when I scan for hardware changes, the other problem I got is that there is some kind of unknown device showing in device manager, which I cannot get to install, maybe its related?

yep, the gigabyte is a 450w psu too! Stupid marketing gimmick

@Commander, did you install all the drivers for the board? Did you do a fresh install of windows?

Also try downloading and installing the latest drivers instead of the ones that came with the hardware because most of the time they're outdated. Also, at bootup continuously press f8 and make the pc not reboot upon system failure, then when it does BSOD post the error code here
 
I had the same problem. turned out my cpu was overheating because the heat paste had solidifyed and wasnt making proper contact when I put everthing back together
 
Ah okay I'll do that when It bombs again, The Northbridge Heatsink is quite hot, could that be a prob or are they usually quite hot?

Oh but according to my PC my CPU is running at 38 so I dont think thats the prob?

+1....check your temps, GPU, GFX :)

:Coretemp, speedfan, everest, GPU-z etc.

Ive read where GFX cards overheating apparently do exactly the same thing...worthwhile looking into.

How is the airflow in your case Jaco?
 
I watched the temp increase in my bios. mine went up to like a 170c! 38c is good
 
Well okay I'm not getting a blue screen no more it just dies, here are temp readings from everest:

Temps seem fine. What do you mean it just dies....when playing games or it just randomly dies?
 
As soon as I enamble Aero or if I go into a game or run any benchmarks, it even died when I watched a youtube vid in fullscreen a while back... Can It be that the GFX is drawing too much power?
