Random disconnects.

Started yesterday. Getting dc'ed in warcraft and starcraft. I thought it was my line. Rebooted router. No effect. Did a port recreate today. No effect. My router says the line has been synced for the last 8hours yet almost every two minutes for most of the day disconnecting and reconnecting to battle.net.

This is of course besides the current problem that even now at 21:30 I'm uploading at double the speed I am downloading at.

Been getting slow speeds ever since seacom went down. If it wasn't for mybroadband I wouldn't know it's up again.

The ADSL remains synced though? It's a timeout in the game only?

Yes. My router says that I have been connected for the last 10 hours now.

Gonna see if I can shave costs somewhere so I can move to openweb GOLD.

Now I can add websites timing out too like a few other users here. I thought maybe I just had old torrents, but while browsing bitsnoop I'd hae to refresh a couple times before it would show.

Sigh.

Pre seacom failure I was extremely happy. Even recommended MWEB.

I manged to eventually get new stuff loaded and speeds are around 200kbps. Suppose thats ok but it's 10PM.

Will see how it is 5:30 am.

Yes. My router says that I have been connected for the last 10 hours now. I hae actually watched the internet light on my router go off while the dsl light stays on.

That's a bit weird, your PPP connection is being dropped. That's not meant to happen at all, have you tried a different ISP yet?

The speeds have been worse even since Seacom came back up again though, hope they get it back to normal.

Strange, I am having the same problem with Afrihost/IS. The very slow running......... permanently, no change every hour

Well my speeds now are between 60kBps and 80kBps. Usually only after 7am does eerything slow.

Sigh.

I am so glad i cancelled with mweb. You pay for a service that does not deliver, i do not care what people say aout telkom I am back with them again, and no problems full speed 24/7. I know i am not uncapped anymore but so what.

Now this is messed up. It's AFTER 7 and I'm getting over 300kBs.

Shouldn't speeds slow down after 7am and not speed up?

what does it help being full speed all the time and you pay over R2400 for 40GB
which is what I downloaded on my 384K line last month

for R2400 I could get the 4Mb line with 4Mb unshaped package

Some users on the NAG forums are also experiencing connection drops.

Sigh.

Anyone here too?

last night in a RAID was a dog show... people were being DC'ed left, right and centre! Im with WA unshaped and never have issues, and even I got DC'ed once... :erm:

maybe Telkom are upgrading the exchanges or something???

I did not get dropped but my latency to LOTRO became very high at certain points

over 1000 for about 15 minutes

Well it's 23:35 and my torrents are flying at 112kBps. Guess I'll wait till after 7am when it's peak time for them to speed up again. I don't why mwebs shaper seems to have am and pm mixed up.

It's 07:01 and now getting 303kBps. At 06:10 I was getting around 80-90.

Weird.

Telkom is gearing up for 10mb launch but at the expense of their clients. My line is throttled to 1.3mb/s because I am on the "project", what fscking project? The one where you get half the speed your supposed to get? :D

Qwikslver the reason would be that MWEB does not adjust the shaping that much so all of the leachers (like myself) disconnected at 7 so work can begin :)

I just sent off my cancellation forms off to mweb. :D

Now the almost two month wait.

Sigh.
