New MyWireless Packages

I'm happy. I get good speeds and a damn reliable connection. We only go through 15-20GB a month though. And Sentech helpdesk staff are superb compared to Telkom, judging from the calls I made to Telkom for a customer last week.

Connection, you'll get no signups here mate !

Best you try your luck in another forum in South Africa. No offense against you mate, your just trying to make a living, but there's people here with good memories.

I won't ever again touch anything that the company Sentech has a hand in and I won't ever recommend anyone else does, no matter how tempting the offer.

Sentech blamed their users publically for their shocking service last year - yes, you heard right - they literally blamed their own customers for lack of bandwidth. Subsequently, it was discovered that Sentech had an open proxy and capped ADSL users were making full use of it, thereby sucking up the limited bandwidth Sentech had.

To top it all off, the billing last year was a disaster of epic proportions - pretty much everyone was messed around by it.

Sentech management never apologised for any of this - least ways, not personally to each individual who was part of their service.

They showed gross disregard for their paying customers, not delivering on their promises. The majority of their users were getting sub-standard service last year until eventually they implemented a completely throttled "bursting" type of bandwidth management, only useful for http.

The reason speeds are better now is because Sentech have hardly any customers left !

So, please, don't insult us with your sales pitch, it's too late for MyWireless, the damage has already been done.

Hope they are paying you well for this!

rofl - Sentech helpdesk or helpdesk staff? Cause from what I hear from Sentech users, it seems like they have to communicate to a piece of wood.

...bundled 2 year package where you pay R499 for the modem and R144 activation fee. Then your monthly subscriptions for the 128, 256 and 512 are R499, R699 and R1449 respectively...

...unbundled side, the 12 and 24 month contracts have been dropped leaving all unbundled contracts on month by month contracts only. Then you pay the R144 activation and the modem itself costs R2999. Costs are R499, R699 and R1349 for the 3 packages respectively.

Hope those of you who were put off by the upfront costs might reconsider now.

...
Here's a product suggestion for MyWi reseller dudes, abolish bundled contracts altogether - get rid of them, and only have unbundled 30 day notice contracts, now offer financing on the purchase of the MyWi modem...

Or put another way, allow people to hire-purchase their modems on an unbundled 30 day notice contract...

You should also consider dropping the prices of the 3 packages - if Sentech & MyWi resellers want to capture the dialup market then a cheaper 128k package is needed - IMO R250..R300 per month...

Resellers, I suggest you get together with Sentech & thrash it out...

PS: You can still make up for profits on selling them BigAsses & other antenna stuff...

I just dont get it, why pay more for the 512k on bundled contract as oppose to it on unbundled. My logic tells me, it should be reversed.

Weird pricing.

I am using 128k sentech now from my apartment in Cape Town city right now and it's flying!

Many users don't only use their internet for web browsing and email.
